Leading global real estate franchise group, Harcourts International, has named Rob Forde as Chief Operating Officer International. Mr. Forde will be responsible for leading operations and driving growth in six Harcourts territories - USA, China, Hong Kong, Canada, South Africa and Indonesia - as well as taking responsibility for Harcourts’ financial services business, Mortgage Express.
With more than $35 billion dollars (NZD) worth of property sold over the last 12 months across 10 countries, Harcourts’ continued growth demands top-tier industry leaders to drive winning strategy and streamlined operations across the group.
Mr. Forde is perfectly poised to take on this new role and join the international leadership team, with tertiary qualifications in Business/International Business and leadership experience with Harcourts in both Australia and the US – responsible for driving growth in California, Nevada and Hawaii since 2015.
“Rob has been instrumental in the rapid growth of Harcourts in the U.S. real estate market, and an effective leader to our business owners and their teams,” said Harcourts International Managing Director, Mike Green.
“We are thrilled to have Rob join our international leadership team as this new role within our leadership structure will ensure each country has the highest level of support for their continued success. We believe in the current environment that to be truly successful and continue to grow an organization must invest in resource and specifically great leaders.”
Mr. Forde will work alongside Jo-Anne Clifford, Chief Operating Officer of Harcourts International, who will now be focusing exclusively on operations supporting the Harcourts Australia and Harcourts New Zealand leadership teams and Harcourts International Property Management.
Mr. Forde said that he was excited to return to his home country and join Ms. Clifford in carrying forward the global outlook of Harcourts.
“This new role is an incredible opportunity for me – I am excited to be part of the Harcourts International Executive team in developing the international side of the franchise business and connecting with our people in over 900 offices,” said Mr. Forde.
Mr. Forde will assume his new role in January 2019 based in Brisbane Australia, at Harcourts International headquarters, and with his departure, Ben Brady (current Harcourts Auctions Director) will become Regional Director of Harcourts Pacific, based at the Harcourts USA head office in Aliso Viejo, California.
“Ben is an incredibly hard-working member of the Harcourts USA team and knows the business inside and out having been an integral member of the leadership team,” said Mike Green, Harcourts International Managing Director.
“To have Ben combine his passion for auction and expertise in helping homeowners sell their property, with his exceptional leadership in the Harcourts business, the future for Harcourts and the live auction platform is a bright one.”
Since its debut in the U.S. in 2015, Harcourts Auctions has sold over 1,000 properties in non-distressed auction sales and has become synonymous with a high level of client service for the Harcourts network of 40 offices and over 750 real estate sales consultants. Mr. Brady and the team have worked extremely hard over the past three years to change the perception in the US on live auctions and the unique process.
“For Harcourts, our number one value proposition is auction because it is putting property selling and buying back into the hands of the public and it is a completely transparent process,” Mr. Brady said.
“While it is a relatively new method in the U.S., in other parts of the world such as Australia and New Zealand, auction is often the preferred way to sell property of any type as it is an open forum of competitive and genuine bidding.”
Prior to moving to the U.S., from 2011-2015, Mr Brady was the Chief Auctioneer for Harcourts Queensland in Australia. He has personally been responsible for selling over $5 billion in property over the past twelve years. Despite his continually growing list of achievements, Mr Brady’s number one passion continues to be Harcourts and sharing the unique auction marketing process to achieve above ‘market value’ results for his clients.
“I’m looking forward to continuing to work alongside Rob in his new role,” said Mr Brady. “He’s left me an incredible foundation to build upon and I’m grateful for our collaboration in building the Harcourts brand in the U.S.”
“To have him staying in the Harcourts family and continue on as an ally in growing and strengthening our network is the best possible support for all of our business owners.”
